HEALING & MIRACLES: Gospel’s Advertising Agencies
Dear Gospel Minister & Believer
Jesus Christ neither had a blog, Facebook page, Whatsapp group, Instagram, nor website. There were no billboards, neither television nor radio. Yet his fame went abroad and multitudes thronged him. Why? Answer lies in demonstration of the power of God!
I write to let you know that acts of power ie deliverance, healing and miracles are the advertising agencies of the gospel. Yes! They are not the Gospel per se, but they are the Gospel’s primary marketing tools. Yes! They have been abused and counterfeited but that does not make them of no relevance.
They are needed, not only for pulpit ministry and crusades, but also for soul winning through personal one to one witnessing. A minister ignores or downplays them at his/her own peril.
It is written of Jesus: “And his FAME went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with diverse diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.” (Mt 4:24)
It is also written: “And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a FAME of him through all the region round about.” (Lk 4:14)
It is further written: “But so much the more went there a FAME abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.” (Lk 5:15)
The apostles had a daunting task to spread the gospel amid the opposition of the Judaizers. They were outnumbered, not as educated, not as equipped, but they overcame. How? They were endured with power from on High! They had waited for the Holy Spirit and He had come upon them. They demonstrated the power of God through miracles, signs and wonders.
It is written: “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people… the people magnified them… And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women… There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.” (Acts 5:12-16)
By the demonstration of power, they turned the world upside down and ignited a fire that has burnt for generations.
The same can be said of God’s generals, Alexander Dowie, John G Lake, Smith Wigglesworth, Kathryn Khulman, Maria Woodworth Etter, Kenneth Hagin to name but a few.
Even in Africa, we have our own of the likes of late Benson Idahosa, Temitope Bologan Joshua, Reinhard Bonkke, and Ps Chris Oyakhilome who is still on the scene. Their distinguishing mark is deliverance, healing and miracles.
Closer home in Zimbabwe, we have the late Ezekiel Guti, Pr Emmanuel Makandiwa, Pr Walter Magaya etc No matter the mixed feelings you may have about the abovementioned, their cutting age is demonstration of power through deliverance, healing, and miracles.
So dear minister, seek God and walk in the demonstration of His power. Get power! Get healing! Get deliverance! And with all thy getting, get miracles signs and wonders! Anointing will cease to be annoying! Ministry will be enjoyable not endurance! The harvest will be evident!
